Buy me some glasses,
to see hope, goodness, kindness,
to see a new world.
What's your view of the world? Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Do you believe we are good by nature, or evil?
The novel Lord of the flies had a strong impact on me when I read it as a teenager. For the first time, I questioned human kindness. It's one of those things you take for granted when you are a kid. Of course people are good. How can it be otherwise.
However, it was the pandemic that really changed my views on mankind. So today's Daily Haiku is inspired by a beautiful concept, a pair of magical glasses that would allow you to discover that, in reality, the world is a place full of generosity, kindness, and goodness, only, you'd missed it before.
