Always in motion

All of us walk different paths during our childhood, and the one we go through has an undeniable influence on the person we become when we grow older, but they don't define us completely or forever.

Always in motion

The Daily Haiku. Feb 8. Always in motion.

Always in motion,
new cities, schools, faces, but...
it was all the same.

When I was a kid, we were constantly changing places. Sometimes, we would move to a new city every year for several years in a row.

As such, it was very difficult for me to make friends. New cities, new schools, new faces. But eventually, it was all the same, I was kind of an stranger wherever I went, so I became quite laid back, introvert, and independent.

I felt dettached from most stuff that was so important for other kids, and that definitely had an influence in who I am today. I focused on my own inner world, my books, my stories, my computer, my 1s and 0s. I shut myself off from the outside world.

However, I have had the chance of changing, and I am now a completely different person. As I have mentioned before, we are constantly changing, and we are not the same person we were one year ago, or even one hour ago.

All of us walk different paths during our childhood, and the one we go through has an undeniable influence on the person we become when we grow older, but they don't define us completely or forever. Changing is not just possible, it is inevitable. At the same time, we are always us, all that change is part of who we are, so in a way, everything is in motion, but everything remains the same.
